- December-March the air temp is around a high of 70 degrees F and a low of 52 at night, and the sea is around 68 degrees F. We do get North Winds during this time that can make the air chilly and the sea choppy, but fishing and kayaking around the islands is still good on non-windy days.
- Late January to mid March is whale season..In the Sea of Cortez, there are Blue Whales, Minke whales and fin whales. The Grey Whales are calving on the Pacific side.. (2 hour drive one way from Loreto).
- Spring is very nice in Loreto and the water and the air temps start to rise in the beginning of May.. Depending on the year, the Dorado, Sailfish and Marlin typically start to arrive at the beginning of June.
- It is very hot over the summer and through September. The water temperature is great for water sports and the visibility of the sea is amazing (up to 100 feet!), but very hot for land based activities.
- Fall is nice, and it starts to get cooler towards the end of November.

No, there are no phones in the cabañas. The best way to use the phone in Baja is to purchase a phone card (in denominations of 50 pesos; purchased at many stores around) and use one of the many public phones around town. They work for local and long distance calls. Also, if you plan to bring a cell phone, make sure you contact your service provider to confirm that your plan covers Mexico. Also if you plan to bring a laptop, skype is a great program to download and to use to make inexpensive calls. The tacate distributor on the corner of Modero and Hidalgo sells the cards as well as the sports store across the street. The closest pay phone to the property is in front of the Oasis Hotel. There is another one next to the gazebo in the town square or at the intersection of Madero and Hidalgo. (near Las Parras Tours and Café Ole)
